My Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) won't accept my Schedule 1 as a proof of payment. What do I do ?

When you E-File your Form 2290, the IRS will apply a digital watermark to your Schedule 1. This electronic Schedule 1 is your official proof of payment. If a state or local DMV won’t accept this digital Schedule 1, please call IRS help desk at 1-866-699-4096 and provide the IRS with a brief description of the issue and the contact information of your local DMV. The IRS will be able to assist and ensure that your DMV accepts your electronic Schedule 1.
